Korean street food brand Bunsik is set to open its first Devon restaurant on Friday 3 July as part of a major regeneration project in Plymouth city centre.

The new site at 134 Armada Way covers approximately 2,000sq ft, making it the largest location for the company to date. The venue will accommodate around 45 guests across two levels, offering dine-in, takeaway and delivery options.

The restaurant marks the 13th UK outlet for the brand, following recent regional openings in Bristol and Southampton. The launch coincides with the official reopening of the pedestrianised Armada Way quarter on 4 July 2026 following a local authority redevelopment programme.

The menu focuses on Seoul-inspired street food, including Korean corndogs, fried chicken, kimbap and tteokbokki rice cakes. The outlet will use halal meat across its menu alongside available vegetarian options to target the local student and shopping demographic.

Hospitality firm Maguro Group owns the brand, led by Jae Cho, founder, who holds nearly two decades of experience operating Korean food concepts in the UK market. The Plymouth branch will be operated by franchise partner ZK Group, which also runs neighbouring outlets for Cupp Bubble Tea and German Doner Kebab.

Jae Cho, founder of Bunsik, said: "Everyone at Bunsik is incredibly excited to be bringing the brand to Plymouth and opening our first restaurant in Devon. We have been looking for the right location in the city and Armada Way felt like the perfect fit. The transformation taking place in the city centre makes this a particularly exciting moment to join Plymouth’s food scene, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone through our doors."
