Pret A Manger increased its global system sales by 7% during the first four months of 2026.

The food-to-go business grew its UK sales by 8% over the same period, driven by an expansion of its store network and higher customer numbers.

The figures follow the filing of the full-year accounts of the firm for 2025, which show total system sales of £1.2bn and an operating profit of £37m.

The company also grew its international estate by 5% year-on-year to more than 750 shops across 21 countries.

UK expansion focused on travel hubs and roadside locations, including the opening of the first drive-thru outlet of the brand in Warrington.

Menu changes introduced since the start of the year include half-sized baguettes, smaller wraps, and an updated line of matcha drinks. The retailer also invested in barista training and shop equipment to increase service speeds.

Pano Christou, chief executive, said: “We are encouraged by our start to 2026, particularly as more customers are choosing Pret despite the financial pressure many households continue to face.

“Over the past few years, we have invested significantly in our menu and in better value for money for our customers, while also continuing to support our amazing team members and improve the Pret customer experience. These results give us confidence that when we stay focused on the customer, we can continue to win the hearts and minds of Pret fans in the UK and around the world.”
