UK-based QSR restaurant chains, Caprinos Pizza and Zinglet, have announced plans to open 50 sites in Spain over the next five years, after signing a master franchise agreement.
The brands are set to debut in Barcelona by the end of August, opening four locations this summer.
Farhat Faheem, who is a former Domino’s and Pizza Hut franchisee, will operate both brands under the five-year deal, which marks Caprinos’ first expansion into mainland Europe.
Caprinos already operates more than 120 stores across the UK, Pakistan, and Ireland. The brand achieved 14% like-for-like growth in 2025.
Its sister brand, hot chicken concept Zinglet, launched its first location in Birkenhead last month.
Faheem plans to open Caprinos and Zinglet units side-by-side in large retail and leisure spaces, sharing dining areas. The first dual-branded site will open in a Barcelona food court, with construction already underway on a second location.
Co-founders Khalil Rehman and Gul Nawaz are also in discussions to expand both brands into the Middle East.
Nawaz and Rehman said: “Over recent years, we’ve built Caprinos into a much-loved brand and household name in the UK and started to establish ourselves internationally in Pakistan and Ireland. We’re taking a significant step forward in our journey and are extremely excited to work with Farhat, a highly experienced multi-brand and multi-unit operator, to establish our position in Spain – a market with a vibrant late-night consumer audience that plays into the heart of our proposition.
“Alongside this, Farhat will also help us bring Zinglet to its first international market and help us showcase the benefits of operating Zinglet and Caprinos side-by-side. We can’t wait to introduce consumers to our brands, and build a connection – much like the one we have with consumers in the UK – with consumers across Spain.”
