Pizza Pilgrims, the British Neapolitan pizza restaurant chain, has appointed Hannah Williams as marketing director, as it continues its expansion across the UK.

The appointment comes as the pizzeria, backed by German restaurant group, L’Osteria, seeks to expand its marketing, shifting away from mass broadcasting towards more local-driven campaigns.

Williams, who is the former marketing director of Burger and Lobster also brings directorial experience across major brands including Nandos and Tesco.

In a LinkedIn post, Williams expressed her excitement about joining the team, and said: “Their commitment to their purpose. It’s not a soundbite, a tick-box exercise, or a webpage full of stats. It’s woven into the decisions they make as a business, ensuring they leave a positive mark on the world.”

Pizza Pilgrims founder James Elliot said: “Hannah joining Pizza Pilgrims as Marketing Director is a huge moment for us. From day one, we’ve been passionate about building a brand with heart, personality and great storytelling.

“As we continue to grow, Hannah will help us protect and strengthen that soul while bringing a depth of marketing expertise that will take us to the next level. She combines a genuine understanding of brand-building with the technical and strategic skills needed to help us reach more people without losing what makes Pizza Pilgrims special. We’re absolutely delighted to have her on board.”
