East Dulwich pub, The Palmerston is to close following 15 years in business after it did not get a new lease just months after closing for refurbishment.

The pub’s last day of service has been earmarked for 3 June 2019, ten years after the pub was first converted into a gastropub, celebrated for its Sunday roasts. The pub closed in summer last year for a complete kitchen refurbishment, which was intended to ensure the longevity of the business.

A Palmerston statement read: “It is with a heavy heart to all our customers friends and supporters over the last 15 years 3 June will be our last day of The Palmerston as we know it. We have reached the end of our lease and unfortunately we are not being offered a new one. Please come say hi before we go.”
