A new online shop providing free downloadable assets has launched to support the nationwide #VATsTheProblem campaign for a 10% hospitality VAT rate.
The platform allows hospitality operators to download, print and display marketing materials. The assets aim to encourage customers to sign the campaign petition.
Available items include tent cards, beer mats, posters and receipt cards. The shop offers both home-printing files and professional versions with print bleeds.
Organisers plan to expand the product range over the coming weeks. Operators will eventually be able to purchase pre-printed materials delivered at cost price.
Chef Tom Kerridge is spearheading the campaign. The initiative has already attracted more than 220,000 signatures ahead of its official consumer launch on 1 July.
The campaign is backed by major trade bodies including UKHospitality, the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA), the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) and CODE Hospitality.
Kerridge said: “It’s fantastic to see such enthusiasm for the campaign, with numbers on the petition continuing to climb and social media flooded with support backing 10% hospitality VAT.
“With our target of a million signatures, we need the might of hospitality to get venues, staff and customers all behind the campaign.”
He added: “Let’s take the incredible momentum we’ve already built and get our pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels and many more decked out in #VATsTheProblem branding, to make sure consumers understand and are fully behind us.”
