Food hall platform Arcade has announced it will launch its third London location in Covent Garden on 15 May, situated in a 12,500 sq ft site on Bedford Street.
The brand, which currently operates at Tottenham Court Road and Battersea Power Station, said its new venue is “the most ambitious expression of the Arcade model to date”.
Its Covent Garden iteration will accommodate up to 385 guests across one floor, hosting two standalone restaurants, a central dining space with several Arcade brands, a bar, a listening bar and coffee concept and a counter run by London-based smash burger brand ‘Manna’.
Its restaurant offering will consist of a chef-led Greek-Cypriot taverna and a Mexican taqueria, joined by established Arcade brands Solis, Gracey’s, Hero and Plaza Khao Gaeng in the main dining space.
The company’s fresh Studio Coffee concept, created in partnership with Rich Woods, will serve as a listening space serving craft coffee in the day and wines, beers and cocktails at night.
The development, taking place in a former Victorian boot-lacing factory where Charles Dickens once worked, is being overseen by Red Deer Architects.
Lionel Real de Azúa, architect and co-founder of Red Deer, said: “The design pays homage to the building’s industrial past through rich oxblood tones and lacquered finishes, while rejecting ornate Victorianism in favour of clean, modern lines. It’s a space that feels both rooted and forward-looking – designed to stage a vibrant, ever-evolving mix of culinary experiences.”
Simon Allison, Arcade marketing director, added: “The opening of Arcade Covent Garden is a defining moment for our brand. This isn’t just our third location – it’s a milestone in showcasing the full potential of what Arcade can be.
“Covent Garden, with its rich mix of history and modernity, feels like the perfect setting for this next chapter. Expect bold new food brands, immersive design, and an elevated guest experience that reflects the spirit of this iconic area.”
